Useful information

Description

The theologian John Wesley, one of the founders of the Methodist movement (a branch of Protestantism), laid the foundation stone of this chapel in 1777. The interior boasts a white and gold ceiling by Robert Adam and a tribune supported on seven jasper columns. The Museum of Methodism is housed in the crypt. The clergyman's house is packed with mementoes, including his desk, furniture, clothes, library and kneeler.
