Useful information

Description

This site has been occupied by a church since the early days of English christianisation. This church was dedicated to Dunstan, who was the bishop of London in the 10C. The building, like some of the monuments inside, dates from the 13C. The parish register, which dates back to the 16C, was also used to record births at sea. Hence, the church is also known as the Church of the High seas.
