Description
Intrepid visitors can take in the docks' characteristic ambience by taking a walk between Belém and the praça do Comércio. The authorities have been systematically converting the waterfront into a leisure area, and it is now a pleasure to stroll along the River Tagus, nicknamed the "Straw Sea" (on account of the golden hue it takes on at dusk). Fine view from from the 25 de Abril bridge of Belem stretching to the Castle of São Jorge.
