Description
The elegant 18C town hall stands in the middle of the square; it is flanked by a Gothic belfry (1369) that was once part of a drapers' hall and is a UNESCO World Heritage site. A few old guildhalls give onto the square, including the Butchers' Hall, with crow-stepped gables and a perron guarded by two lions. The Eycken Boom (Oak Tree) once hosted members of a "rhetorical chamber".
