Description
Heading out of Le Bourg-d'Oisans towards La Bérarde (1,000m/3,281ft higher up), a narrow, winding road enters the extensive glacial Vénéon valley. Villages are few and far between along the steep road which commands views of the surrounding peaks. Make sure you go up to the immense Lauvitel Lake and take the time to explore the signposted paths from La Bérarde, gateway to the Écrins national park and its mountain scenery of peaks and summits.
