Road F225 leads to the Landmannalaugar massif. Only suitable for 4WD vehicles and experienced drivers, F225 takes you through a fine array of landscapes. The road approaches Hekla and crosses a black area with an other-worldly feel, where Ridley Scott shot scenes of Prometheus. A grassy steppe precedes the hut at Landmannahellir, then reliefs and streams of multi-coloured lava herald Landmannalaugar.
