Description
Heralded by a sculpture of a horse towing logs, this fascinating museum is dedicated to woodwork and local heritage. Here you can learn all about woodcutting techniques, from the days of pit sawyers up until the machine age, as demonstrated by a working saw activated by a steam-powered machine dating back to 1896 (demonstration). Reconstructions of the workshops of a clog maker and a cheese box maker. Pleasing collection of wooden toys, some of which can be handled, plus wooden sculptures dotted around the grounds.
