Useful information

Description

Founded in 1308 to defend the region, Bohus fortress played a decisive role up to the Treaty of Roskilde in 1658 when, having lost its strategic importance, it was abandoned and fell into ruin. The imposing round tower nicknamed Fars Hatt (Father's Hat) is the only corner tower still standing. In summer, concerts and other events are held in the inner courtyard.
