Description
The monastery was founded by Tassilo III, Duke of Bavaria, in the 8C. The abbey church and monastery buildings date from the 17C and 18C, when great architects – Carlo Antonio Carlone, Jakob Prandtauer – and talented painters such as Altomonte and Kremser Schmidt helped transform the monastery in the Baroque style.
