Useful information

Description

Between the early fortress (1167) and Christianborg (completed in 1928), five successive castles were built on the same site. The current palace never served as a royal residence but now houses the Parliament, Supreme Court, Prime Minister's Office and the royal reception rooms. Visitors can see the royal stables, Court Theatre and the ruins of the first palace.
