Useful information

Description

This 35m-high tower, mentioned by Hans Christian Andersen in Tinderbox, was built in 1642 on the order of Christian IV to serve as an observatory. An unevenly paved spiral ramp and a staircase provide access to the top, from where there is a delightful panoramic view over the city, with its myriad spires.
