Description
The numerous rooms of this early-19C palace used to serve as audience rooms, reception rooms, offices of the khan and his ministers, and private apartments. Everywhere you look, blue ceramics arranged into delicate arabesques, tracery and plant motifs vie for your attention. The high point awaits in the harem courtyard, with its five iwans (porches) that are adorned with majolica and carved pillars with polychrome wooden ceilings. A site that demonstrates the level of expertise achieved by Uzbek artisans.
