This peninsula, covered with scrubland, olive trees and herds of goats, is a pastoral and agricultural landscape that has jealously maintained its typical appearance of bare mountains reflecting the sunlight, and deserted creeks and beaches. Access to the peninsula is via Ildir, a listed village of Greek origin, with its pink-tinted stone houses and 4C BC theatre. After passing through some bucolic landscapes, you come to Karaburun. This is the largest town on the headland, and comes to life with its traditional weekly market, where you'll find the myriad scents and flavours of local life.
