The rich soil of the region of Kompong Cham provides the perfect conditions for hevea. This crop that is used to make rubber was widely grown here in the 1920s during the French Protectorate, and is currently enjoying a revival. A number of plantations are open to the public, among which the Chup Hevea Plantation.
