With its five towers, reminiscent of Byzantine style, and its layout in the shape of a Greek cross, this imposing 12C church is one of the most stunning in the country. Its founder, Esbern Snare, probably influenced its architecture. The building has octagonal towers, and a higher square tower stands on the transept crossing. Inside is a relatively small, square nave; four massive pillars support the weight of the central tower. The curious-looking baptismal fonts date from the 15C and the Baroque altarpiece from the 17C.
