Situated at the exit to the souk, the Mosque of the Three Doors or Khayrun Mosque is one of the oldest monuments in Kairouan, dating from 866. The mosque has been remodelled on a number of occasions, but its façade has retained some of its 9C features, including the three doors set within arches (the one in the middle is the tallest) which follow the traditional arrangement of church porches.
