The best time to visit this important pilgrimage site is in March-April during the Rishabdev festival, when the Jains, Vishnuists and Bhils all come together to celebrate the god Rishabdev, who is likened to Adinatha, the first of the 24 tirthankara (the gurus of the Jain community). Devotees process through the 15C temple, the main monument of this small town, which houses a black marble statue of the god.
