The Michelin Guide's review
The Cape Breton Highlands National Park stretches over 950km²/367mi² of coastal and mountain landscapes. Some pretty beaches can be found along the west coast, bordering the relatively calm waters of the St. Lawrence, while the eastern side is pounded by the relentless ocean waves. Keep an eye out for whales, and even bald eagles. The park has no lack of look-out posts and 26 well signposted and accessible nature trails. Enquire at the visitor centre about the many activities available.
