Description
Archaeologists first discovered human-made weapons together with the bones of Ice Age mastodons here, proving conclusively that humans briefly coexisted with the huge extinct mammal 12,000 years ago. Exhibits in the park's small museum describe prehistoric life here, and a full-size replica skeleton gives a good sense of the sturdy tusked creature that stood 8-10ft high at the shoulder.
