Useful information

Description

Battery Point is a charming little village, whose neat rows of 19C cottages overlook the sea. The oldest and prettiest district of Hobart owes its name to the Mulgrave Battery of cannons placed here in 1818 by British settlers to protect the town and its harbour. The quaint appeal of the village lanes and inviting cafés is further enhanced by historic Victorian and Georgian architecture.
