Description
The Peace Memorial Museum has much to commend it, not least its objectivity, showing the horror caused by the American bomb without skipping over the atrocities committed by the Japanese army during the war. This well-executed informative angle is coupled with deeply touching records of the atomic catastrophe: photos, accounts, videos, reconstructions of devastated streets populated by stunningly realistic mannequins, objects retrieved from the ruins that bear the marks of the horror. The visit is moving, as well as instructive.
