Turned into a courthouse in the 19C, this building is now home to the tourist office, which holds an interesting exhibition on the penal system of yesteryear. One thing you will learn is that around 1850 a 14 year-old could be sentenced to exile in Australia for swiping a couple of bottles of beer, and that a woman could be ordered to wear a sort of muzzle for talking too much.
