Founded in 1842, this remarkable museum originally consisted of landscapes by artists such as John Trumbull, Frederic Church and Thomas Cole. The museum today boasts an extensive array of old and modern works. In addition to a world-renowned collection of landscapes by the Hudson River school, visitors can admire European porcelain, 19C European paintings and 17C American furniture acquired by Wallace Nutting.
