Description
Lying next to the small Thien Quang lake, Lenin Park is the largest in the city and is home to a circus which continues to hold traditional Soviet-style circus shows, with performances featuring acrobatics and bears riding bicycles. The gardens were laid out in the late 1950s as part of the Socialist labour days, cleaning up what was at the time a rubbish tip on marshy ground. The students' district, with its cafés and working-class restaurants, lies to the east around Nguyen Du and Mai Hac De.
