Description
This charterhouse was built in the early 16C, its church lavishly decorated with Baroque stucco (1662) and paintings. Particularly striking are the Sagrario Chapel, decorated by Francisco Hurtado Izquierdo (18C) and the sacristy (1727-64), a masterpiece of Spanish Baroque: stark white stuccowork with curvilinear mouldings and cornicing galore. The light streaming in through the windows further enhances the remarkable decorative scheme.
