Description
As you skirt Upper Lake, whose dark blue waters are encased in a deep glacial corrie hemmed by pine forests, you will see a few crosses that mark the edge of the monastic complex of Glendalough and vestiges dotted here and there. Reefert church was the burial place of Celtic kings; in front of it, the small walled enclosure is said to be St Kevin's cell.
