Description
The road that goes over Montagu Pass through the Outeniqua Mountain range was partly opened up with explosives in the mid-19C. It connects the towns of George, on the Garden Route, and Oudtshoorn, in the Little Karoo. Like the other passes in the region, (Swartberg Pass, Outeniqua Pass), it offers a chance to enjoy the wonderful surrounding landscapes combining oases of greenery and semi-arid mountains.
