Follow a spiral staircase to the bottom of the dramatic, 500ft-wide 120ft-deep sinkhole known as Devil's Millhopper. Sinkholes such as this are formed when rainwater seeping into limestone substrata creates an underground cavern that eventually collapses, leaving a deep cavity. This one was named for an Indian legend, according to which the devil hurled bodies into its depths.
