Description
In addition to its geological and archaeological collections, the Ruhr Museum is devoted to the social history of industrialisation. Authentic items and documentation give visitors an insight into the situation of working families and the lifestyle of upper middle class in the Ruhr area at the turn of the 20C. The museum is housed in a converted coal wash, with 58m-long escalators that take you 24m up!
