Description
Leave Espalion on the left bank of the Lot. At St-Pierre, cross the bridge to the Church of St Pierre de Bessuéjouls and admire its fine 11C Romanesque chapel. Continue on towards Estaing, stopping to enjoy its castle and picturesque streets, before venturing into the wild, narrow lot Gorge. Beyond the lovely town of Entraygues-sur-Truyère, the valley is not as forbidding. It becomes wider, open country with sites such as the Renaissance Château de Vieillevie and St-Parthem.
