Description
This classic walled garden, a rare feature in Scotland, was designed in 1604 by Sir David Lindsay, who also planned the interior courtyard of Edzell Castle. Its design stemmed from ideas that flourished during this era of peacetime that was the Renaissance. A cultured and well-travelled man, Sir David had elegant tastes and his remarkable work bears witness to an unparalleled degree of elegance and sophistication.
