Description
The town centre is nearly entirely pedestrianised. If you want to enjoy a fine view of the cathedral, with the austere castle walls in the foreground, head for Elvet Bridge or Framwellgate Bridge. Near to St Mary le Bow's Church, an alley descends towards Kingsgate Passage, built in 1963: it graciously crosses the gorge to link the city to the Student Union building.
