Useful information

Description

Coventry was the birthplace of the British car industry (Daimler in 1896). Over 100 car-makers (Standard, Rover, Riley, Lea & Francis, Hillman and Triumph) and motorcycle manufacturers (Swift, Rudge, Whitworth, Raleigh, Norton etc) built factories here over the years. This transport museum showcases the growth and decline of this industry presented in an authentic late-19C street scene.
