The Historic Columbia River Highway (US-30) is a good alternative to the I-84 for exploring the Columbia River Gorge Scenic Area. The Portland Women's Forum State Park (Mile 10) and the Vista House at Crown Point (Mile 11) provide the most beautiful views of the gorges.
