To the right on emerging from the cathedral, stands this theatre (1889), named after a sugar magnate of Venezuelan origin. Decorated with gold mosaics, its beautiful façade is Italian in inspiration. The auditorium is unchanged, its rows of wooden seats able to accommodate 950 spectators. The balconies have an elegant sobriety and a fine fresco embellishes the ceiling.
