Description
The district of Mylapore, one of the oldest residential quarters in Chennai, is dominated by the Kapalishwara temple dedicated to Shiva. This area is home to artisans who make jewellery for dancers. These masters are skilled in the art of imitating the heavy gold jewellery encrusted with rubies that forms an important part of classical Indian dancers' costumes.
