Useful information

Description

Wenshu Temple, repository of sacred texts, is the largest, oldest and most revered of the town's Buddhist shrines. A must-see for Chinese tourists, who take the opportunity to perform their devotions when visiting. Beyond the gate is a series of pagodas with graceful roofs supported by the bright red or black of the colonnades. Inside, gigantic brightly coloured statues preside over proceedings. The Burmese jade Buddha is particularly eye-catching.
