The Musée d'Art et d'Histoire de Chaumont occupies the basement of the castle of the Counts of Champagne. This archaeological collection features a bronze breastplate dating from the 8C BC, paintings from the 16C-20C, sculptures including the recumbent figure of Jean l'Aveugle de Châteauvillain, and fragments from the mausoleum of Antoinette de Bourbon and Claude de Lorraine by Dominique Florentin. A room is also dedicated to the Bouchardon family.
