In 1794, Châlons' library took in items confiscated by the revolutionary courts and, thus, the Muséum Départemental came into being, one of the oldest museums in France. In the gallery of paintings (15C-20C), note, in particular, Winter Landscape by Joos de Momper (16C) and Portrait of Cazotte by Perronneau (18C). You will also find here objets d'art, sculptures by Rodin and an ornithology cabinet, with almost 2 000 stuffed birds from all over the world.
