The natural beauty of the site, an isthmus between two lochs, is the major attraction of these gardens, where you can look along the lawns and tree-lined paths. The ruins are those of Castle Kennedy, former seat of this powerful Ayrshire family. Don't miss the flowering rhododendrons and azaleas in April and May.
