Description

The construction of this Roman Catholic cathedral began in 1829, the year of the Emancipation Act and ended four years later. The style is late English Gothic. It boasts a remarkable cone-shaped tower, topped by a lantern, and marble monument by John Hogan commemorating Bishop Doyle (1786-1834), a prolific writer on current afairs and politics.
