Description
The island of San Pietro (51km²) is located to the northwest of Sant'Antioco, opposite the southern shore of Sulcis. Almost all its inhabitants live in Carloforte, a picturesque little town typical of the House of Savoy, depicted by narrow streets running parallel to each other, rectangular piazzas and a slightly nostalgic aura. San Pietro is like a miniature Sardinia with hilly areas, lakes, saltmarshes, a coast lined with cliffs (to the west and south) and long, sandy beaches (to the east).
