Useful information

Description

The decline of Cardiff's port area, formerly a hub for coal from the mines of South Wales, has been arrested by an ambitious project of urban regeneration. A barrage across the Taff estuary has been built, creating a freshwater lake nowadays fronted by a promenade with shops, cafés and restaurants. Two buildings are of particular interest: the Wales Millennium Centre, home to a large theatre, and the Techniquest centre.
