Description
This legendary shrine and pilgrimage center, the third most visited of Quebec, was founded in 1714. Its centerpiece is a striking octagonal basilica (1964), capable of accommodating 1,800 people and adorned with remarkable stained-glass windows and a massive Casavant organ. The nearby stone church (1720) houses a miraculous statue of the virgin and is among the oldest in Quebec.
