Description
Surrounded by fortifications, the chapel of Notre-Dame-de-la-Serra (closed to the public) rises up out of the scrubland. A staircase leads to the terrace overlooking the bay of Calvi, from where there is a fine view of the sea, mountains and citadel. The chapel was built in the 19C on the ruins of a 15C shrine, destroyed during the siege of Calvi in 1794. The statue of Notre-Dame-de-la-Serra perched on its rock stands guard over the bay.
