Description
Large renovation projects are currently ongoing here. For the time being, an interpretation centre recounts the history of the fort since the city's foundation. Visitors can visit the stables, the blacksmith-farrier's and carpenter's workshops and the barracks of the soldiers stationed here. The visit also includes Deane House, the former home of the superintendent, which is now a restaurant. Enjoy views of the verdant river banks of the Bow river as you stroll through the grounds. A pedestrian bridge provides access to St. George's Island and the zoo.
