Description
This superb nature park lies on the eastern tip of the bay of Almería. A string of bare ochre hills merge here and there into steep cliffs and creeks. The ruins of a few forts are a reminder that it sustained many attacks by pirates. Its charming creeks and its beaches, connected by a coastal path, are ideal for swimming and diving. An enchanting place, unfortunately surrounded by plastic greenhouses and a hot spot of real-estate pressure. The park's visitors' centre is near the Cabo de Gata lighthouse.
