Useful information

Description

The voivod Serban Cantacuzino founded a monastery here in 1679. Following the marriage of Ferdinand and Marie, architect Paul Gottereau built the main palace in 1893, to which was added a group of neo-Romanian buildings. Called the "palace of the pioneers" under communism, Cotroceni is today the presidential residence. The visit takes in passages under arcading, an oriental room and the queen's room.
