Useful information

Description

The bishops' palace, built by prince-bishop Bruno von Kirchberg after 1250 and subsequently modified on many occasions, has managed to preserve a beautiful courtyard with three arcaded floors. It is home to the extensive diocesan museum, which boasts a remarkable collection of polychrome wooden sculptures (Romanesque and Gothic Tyrolean art), sculpted altarpieces in relief from the Renaissance period, the cathedral treasure, and nativity cribs dating from the 18C to the 20C.
