Useful information

Description

Bothwell Castle, now in ruins, dominates the Clyde Valley as it has since it was built in the late 13C. Built around the same time as Edward I's Welsh fortifications, it is one of the Scottish forts, strongly influenced by fortified castles on the continent (Kildrummy, Tantallon and Dirleton).
